Plot
In biology class, Pacey discovers he has failed his midterm. He is assigned an extra-credit assignment with Joey. The two are not happy about this. Dawson evenutally tells Jen that they can still be friends but he is still very obsessed over her. Dawson asks a girl Marybeth to a date on Saturday so he can double-date with Jen when she goes on her date with Cliff at the carnival. Dawson eventually tells Marybeth that he is still hung up on Jen and Marybeth tells him that she has a crush on Cliff. On the ferris wheel, Dawson talks to Jen about their relationship. Jen exclaims that no longer wants to be even friends with him. Dawson asks her why she is going out with Cliff especially when Jen told him that she needed to have a break from men but Jen doesn't want to answer any of Dawson's questions.
After Pacey persists, Joey tells him that she got a 98% on her final but that she needs a scholarship to go to college to leave Capeside. Dawson sees Joey and Pacey at the carnival and Pacey tells Dawson that he is attracted to Joey. He gets Dawson's permission to kiss Joey, and back at Joey's house, Pacey kisses her. Joey, however, doesn't kiss him back and tells Pacey that she is not attracted to him. Dawson, now a little concerned about giving Pacey the ok, goes to the video store to tell Pacey not to kiss Joey. Pacey, still upset, tells Dawson that he should stop playing games and to choose between Jen and Joey. Stats
Great Lines
Dawson: I mean how...how can you be friends with someone when everytime you see them, all you can think about how much more you really want?
Joey: So, what you're telling me is you tried to create some sort of snail menage-a-trois?
Dawson: You know, all things considered, I really wish I was taking you with me today.
Pacey: Joey, just in case you did kiss me back, or even did it out of pity, you'd probably be thinking of somebody else, right? Pacey: Who's it going to be? Jen or Joey? Do you like the blonde or do you like the brunnette? These questions are not going to go away, Dawson and it's time you provide some answers.
Joey: Home Jeebs.
